Background: Atorvastatin, an inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutarylcoenzyme-A (HMG-CoA) reductase, is widely prescribed in adult and pediatric patients for its potent cholesterol lowering effect. However, atorvastatin is only commercially available in tablet form. Therefore, pharmacists have compounded atorvastatin suspension making the medication available to more pediatric patients and select adults unable to take tablets. Limited reports on the preparation of atorvastatin suspension and lack of chemical stability data has relegated pharmacists to prepare a maximum 2-week supply of suspension per United States Pharmacopeia (USP) guidelines........

This study was designed to assess the general public‟s perception, knowledge, attitude and behaviour on antibiotic resistance in a Bangalore, a metropolitan city in the south of India. It also tries to decipher whether the level of education and the professional status of an individual has a positive association with the level of knowledge on antibiotic resistance.Of all the participants who participated in the study, around 95.5% of the surveyed population received a university education. About 81.6% of the participants had knowledge about antibiotic resistance and 82.2% of them believed that many bacterial infections are becoming increasingly resistant to treatment with antibiotics. 65.4% of the respondents believed that antibiotic resistance is becoming one of the biggest problems the world faces and about half the participants believed that they are not at risk of getting antibiotic resistance infection....

Cinnamic acid and its derivatives have a vital role in the synthesis of other important compounds and as precursors for the synthesis of cinnamic esters. Cinnamic acid and its derivatives have diverse bioactivity. This compound is able to inhibit the grow process from several species of bacteria and fungi. In addition, this compound has antioxidant, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic, insect repellent, antidiabetic and anticholesterolemic activities. One of the cinnamic acid derivative compounds is n-octyl cinnamate....
